Laparoscopic Sleeve Gastrectomy

Laparoscopic Sleeve Gastrectomy is a minimally invasive bariatric surgery used in the treatment of Obesity. Sleeve gastrectomy is now being offered as a stand-alone procedure for morbidly obese patients. The procedure involves removing the lateral 2/3rds of the stomach is reduced with a stapling device. It is usually done laparoscopically but is not reversible. It basically leaves a stomach tube instead of a stomach pouch.
